Warung Pintar, an Indonesian startup promoting digital transformation for small and midsize family-owned retail shops, allotted new shares worth $42.7 million last week to a group of investors, including East Ventures and Ardent Capital.

The shares were issued at the same price as Warung Pintar’s Series B round, according to DATA VANTAGE. E-commerce enabler SIRCLO had announced the acquisition of Warung Pintar in January this year.

FMCG company Believe received $13.9 million last week from India’s IIFL Private Equity. The funding is part of a $55 million round announced in April. Believe has so far received $40.5 million in equity financing as part of the round.

True Digital, a unit of Thai communications major True Corporation, has invested $3 million in digital media company Mediaload to emerge as its majority stakeholder. The investment is part of an ongoing Series B round; the startup, which operates news portal Khmerload in Cambodia, could raise another $3 million in the round.

Southeast Asian logistics firm Ninja Van allotted shares worth $94,052 to its employee stock option programme (ESOP) last week.

Singapore-based startup Qritive, which provides an AI-powered solution to help doctors make cancer diagnoses quick, affordable and precise, bagged $3 million from SEEDS Capital last week. Its other backers include SGInnovate and Acequia Capital.

Singapore and Canada-based artificial intelligence startup MEDO received nearly $1 million in funding last week from investors, including Elev8.vc and Great Noble International.

Indonesian quick commerce startup ASTRO received $600,000 from FJ Labs last week. The investment is part of the company’s $60 million Series B round co-led by Accel, Citius and Tiger Global.

Oncoshot, which uses artificial intelligence to address the inefficiencies of cancer clinical trials, announced raising an undisclosed sum in a pre-Series A round led by MassMutual Ventures last week. Regulatory filings show it raised $3.27 million in the round, which was backed by Milltrust International.

Philippine fintech firm Lista has appointed Openspace Ventures executive director Gervin Yang to its board of directors after closing a $5.1 million funding round.

Vertex Ventures-backed virtual kost (boarding house) operator RoomMe appointed co-founder Daniel Basuki as its CEO this month.
