UQ Fintech Lab has joined the cap table of Indonesian fintech startup Fazz through the allotment of preference shares worth [redacted], according to its latest filings with Singapore’s Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA).
The filings show that the company issued [redacted] shares to an entity named UQ Fintech Lab VCC, which is linked to The University of Queensland Fintech Society, Australia. The new shares were priced at [redacted] apiece — similar to the fintech firm’s last share allotment in 2023, when it had raised $100 million in a Series C round.

Weakest run for fintech
Fintech continued to be the most active vertical for PE-VC dealmaking in H1 2025, recording 57 deals worth $631 million. However, both figures were sharply lower year-on-year, down 32.9% in volume and 26.7% in value, marking the weakest half-year performance in more than six years, finds DealStreetAsia DATA VANTAGE’s Southeast Asia Startup Funding Report: H1 2025.
The drop in funding underscores the funding squeeze at the early stage, where investor caution has been the most acute. By contrast, late-stage fintech deals have remained relatively steady and more stable over the past three semesters, with funding consistently topping $300 million and peaking at $402 million in H2 2024.
