Dear *|IF:FNAME|**|FNAME|*,*|ELSE:|*Reader,

Malaysia-based earned wage access service provider Paywatch received [redacted] million from US-based venture capital firm Third Prime last week. The latest transaction brings its ongoing round total to [redacted] million.

The company had last announced raising a $9 million pre-Series A round led by Third Prime in 2022. Its other backers include Vanderbilt University and the University of Illinois Foundation.

Founded by brothers Alex and Richard Kim, Paywatch provides employees with access to their earned salary anytime and anywhere without having to file cash advance requests or incur interest charges.

The startup currently operates in Malaysia, South Korea, Indonesia, the Philippines and Hong Kong.

Pyxis, a Singapore-headquartered maritime technology company, received a capital infusion from Shift4Good, Motion Ventures and other investors last week. The funding is part of a larger round.

Founded by former Eng Hup Shipping executive Tommy Phun, the company helps coastal vessels transition from diesel fuel to electricity.

Earlier this month, a group comprising Pyxis and SP Mobility, an arm of utilities major SP Group, was chosen by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) to pilot its vessel charging concepts in the city-state. As part of the trial, the companies will deploy their electric marine chargers at Marina South Pier.
