Private hospital chain operator Columbia Asia issued shares worth [redacted] million last week. The biggest chunk, [redacted] million, went to parent HLT Healthcare Holdings, which is a joint venture between Malaysian conglomerate Hong Leong Group and funds managed by private equity firm TPG.
The others to receive shares include Chen Kim Lian, KVC Group, Chen Khai Voon (Genetec Technology) and several executives at [redacted], Beacon Hospital and [redacted]. The share allotment to [redacted] and [redacted] indicates that a rumoured consolidation of [redacted] is well underway.
Columbia Asia, the primary vehicle for the consolidation, reported a net profit of [redacted] million for the financial year ended March 31, 2023. Its revenue for the year stood at $285.5 million.

Payment infrastructure company Thunes has increased its stake in regulatory technology firm Tookitaki by buying shares from individual shareholders.
[Redacted] has exited its investment in proptech firm [redacted] by selling its shares to Hanwha Investment & Securities.
Medical technology firm AWAK Technologies received [redacted] million from existing shareholder Lion X Ventures last week.
